From insulin to CGM: great discoveries in the fight against diabetes

From the first guesses of ancient physicians to today's CGM systems, fighting diabetes has always been a feat of science.

- Between 1921 and 1922, Frederick Bunting and Charles Best isolated insulin for the first time, saving millions of lives.

- In the 1960s, Andreas Pfeiffer created a prototype glucose meter.

- In the 1970s, American bioengineer David A. Gough developed the first implantable glucose sensor, laying the foundation for today's CGM systems.

- In 1999, David Clark introduced the concept of non-invasive glucose monitoring.

MLC is taking up the torch by improving continuous blood glucose monitoring technology. We are developing our own CGM Fly system in an effort to make diabetes control more accurate, easier and more affordable for millions of people.

Like our predecessors, we believe that medical revolutions happen when science, technology, and global collaboration come together.
